Volkswagen e-Golf

Volkswagen shows off it’s latest all electric car – the Volkswagen e-Golf. This car is a fully electrified version of the already existing Volkswagen Golf, which runs on petrol. It is set to be one of the market leaders in the automotive industry due its environmental friendliness, not to mention its numerous state-of-the-art features.

Exterior Features
The Volkswagen e-Golf resembles its petrol counterpart in many ways. Apart from the LED headlights, front and rear e-Golf badges, C-shaped LED daytime running lights, and the blue strip adorning its grille, there appears to be very few exterior features to differentiate the two. However, a closer inspection reveals the detailed aerodynamic refinements that are specifically designed to help it slip through the air with greater efficiency than any of its predecessors.

It has a rear spoiler to give it a sportier look and improve high speed stability. The aluminium-alloy wheels have also been optimised with aerodynamic design to minimise turbulence and drag within wheel housings. In addition, the car has a rear defogger and variable intermittent wipers.

The car is available in a variety of  colours – reflex silver metallic, candy white, crystal champagne, tornado red, united grey metallic, titan black, blue, and light green. This gives you an opinion that you cannot fail to get your favourite colour.

Interior Features
The Volkswagen e-Golf’s interior is equipped with everything you would expect in the Volkswagen Golf and more, starting with the highly innovative and elegant design. It comes with a leather steering wheel, climate control, heated windscreen, navigation system and range monitor. The centre console has been carefully angled towards the driver and equipped with heater vents.

The rear seats can be folded down to increase load capacity while both the driver and passenger seats have adjustable lumbar support for extra comfort. This means that if you are fond of going for long drives or suffering from back pain, the Volkswagen e-Golf is a suitable option worth considering. The car also has a trip computer, low fuel warning system, front and rear cup holders, front door pockets, and external temperature display.

To make sure that you and your passengers are safe and comfortable and safe at all times, the car features four-wheel ABS, remote anti-theft alarm system, headrests, traction controls, seat belts, air bags, tyre pressure monitoring, child seat anchors, post-collision safety system and emergency brake assist.

The Volkswagen e-Golf is powered by a 115-horsepower electric motor and a rechargeable 24.3-kWh lithium-ion battery. The battery, which weighs about 320 kilos, is mounted underneath the boot at the rear. It consists of more than 260 individual cells from Panasonic and is capable of generating a nominal voltage of 235 volts. Due to its powerful nature, the battery can move the car up to a distance of 120 miles before requiring a recharge. According to the manufacturer, the battery should be charged for about 4 hours at a 220-volt charging station. In addition, the e-Golf offers a DC quick charger to boost the charging system.

When it comes to speed, the Volkswagen e-Golf is capable of reaching a top speed of 85 to 88 mph, with 0-60 mph acceleration in about 11.5 seconds. With this incredible speed range, you can always reach your destination without fear of being late.

All in all the e-Golf is super little car, it’s fast, it’s well made and it’s environmentally friendly.
