Derbyshire County Council have announced that council tax could rise by £50 a year if consumers do not reduce the amount of waste the create.
Surely this is the council just passing the buck? They need to rethink their strategy for handling this problem as it is not necessarily the fault of the consumer.
The amount of packaging waste that is generated by the big supermarkets (who make many millions profit) is where attention needs to be focused not on the individual.
Once again the man/woman in the street pick up the bill for big business.
