We've got them all!
Since the middle of the 19th century when photography was
invented, people have been taking photographs of Chesterfield.
Unfortunately we don't have many pictures from those early days
(yet) but we have an amazing collection of photography of Chesterfield
and the surrounding area from the early 20th century up to the
modern day.
Photographs of Chesterfield town, its inhabitants, landmark
buildings, scenes from surrounding pit villages and the old railways.
The bulk of this collection was kindly donated by Bill Skevington
- and we thank him for kindness and generosity in sharing this
important archive of photographs.
