The BMW X5 is one of the most modern mid-size luxury sport utility vehicles (SUVs) produced by BMW. The new BMW X5 comes in three variants: X5 xDrive35d, X5 xDrive35i, and X5 xDrive50i. Although they look similar, each variant is unique in its own way.


Exterior Features

The new BMW X5’s wide-body frame makes it a real eye-catcher. It has a length of about 191.5 inches and a width of about 77 inches. It also boasts of other several state-of-the-art design features that further emphasize its magnificent appearance as well as its unbeatable versatility. At the front, the wide, flat BMW kidney grille gives the car a striking athletic appearance. The prominent headlights are attached to the kidney grille in a special way, emphasizing the vehicle’s wide track and creating an impression of all-in-one unit.

At the rear, X5 is one of the first BMW SUV models to feature Aero Blades, which not only make the car look wider, but also channel air for better aerodynamics. The vehicle also has a 2-section tailgate and strong roof rails.

The BMW X5 comes in a wide variety of colors including black sapphire metallic, jet black, Orion silver metallic, platinum gray metallic, sparkling bronze metallic, and deep sea blue metallic. Space gray metallic, titanium silver metallic, alpine white, mineral white metallic, dark graphite metallic and sparkling brown are also available.



Interior Features

The new BMW variant has a roomy interior equipped with a new iDrive Touch Controller, efficient a 2-zone climate control system, Bluetooth phone and audio streaming, a nine-speaker audio system, push-button start, a panoramic moon roof, HD radio, a slickly-designed dashboard, a 10.2-incg LCD screen, decorative atmospheric lighting, M-sport leather steering wheel, and 5 comfortable leather seats.

Optional features include a surround rear-view parking camera system, lane departure warning, a 16-bang & Olufsen surround-sound audio system, a head-up display, and soft-close automatic doors.

The 20-way multi-contour front seats can be adjusted to ensure that the driver gets the best possible view of the road ahead. The rear seats, which fold in a 40/20/40 configuration, are suitable for storing items such as ski equipment and skateboards underneath.



The new BMW X5 variant performs extraordinarily well on all terrains. The xDrive35i runs on 3.0-litre turbo-charged inline 6-cylinder engine that is capable of producing about 300 horsepower and about 350 pound-feet of torque. The xDrive50i is powered by a twin-turbo V8 that produces 400 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. The xDrive35d features a turbo-diesel inline 6-cylinder engine that produces 265 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque.



When it comes to safety, the new BMW X5 variant gives nothing to chance. Each variant has a 10-year subscription to BMW Assist eCall services such as the Automatic Collision Notification. This special feature activates when the air bags deploy to help the occupants in touch with people who can offer speedy assistance in case of an accident. There is also a night vision system with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, and a lane-departure warning system.
